The Guild of Travel and Tourism is a leading international association for professionals in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry. It serves as a forum for bringing people together through business networking events held at prestigious locations, and also exists to facilitate new business opportunities for members, organisations and entrepreneurs who are looking to develop their business.
The Guild has a well established membership base, but needed to diversify its marketing in order to reach a new audience.
It chose to work with Simon Thorp Consulting, who implemented a digital marketing campaign encompassing paid search on Google, and a Facebook social media campaign designed to attract a new following for the organisation.
A varied ‘long tail’ advertising campaign on Google has been viewed by over 300,000 users of the search engine, and attracted 5,000 new visitors to the Guild’s website. Alongside this, a Facebook loyalty club of over 350 members has been established, connecting the Guild to almost 200,000 other people through word of mouth recommendation, the ‘Holy Grail’ of marketing.
